Chinese university offers MBBS course

It will cost Rs. 9 lakhs for each student

HYDERABAD: Taishan Medical University (TMU), based in Shandong province of China, is offering MBBS course along with Indian curriculum and faculty recruited from India and the US.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Arabind K. Chowdarey, international student coordinator, TMU, said that Indian students seeking medical education would be able to join the University as the degrees were recognised globally. However, they must clear the test conducted by the Medical Council of India for registration.

He said that the four-and-a-half year course would cost around Rs. 9 lakhsincluding boarding, lodging, return air tickets every year and other expenses at the University.Separate hostels would be available on the campus for Indian girls and boys.Indian cooks were being employed to serve Indian food, he said.
