Release scholarship dues to nursing students: SFI
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The State committee of Students' Federation of India (SFI) has sought immediate release of scholarship dues of 19,000 nursing students totalling Rs. 20 crores in view of the difficulties experienced by them in continuing studies.
K. Harikishore, secretary, in a statement here on Sunday said students had been pursuing general nursing and B.Sc (Nursing) in the hope of getting refund of tuition, special, uniform transportation and laboratory fee and capitation deposit
Many students from the rural areas who joined nursing courses had secured loans and had been under pressure from college managements, he said. The fact that scholarships had not been released after the Congress assumed office was causing hardships to students, he added.
