BANGALORE: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Airport Police on Sunday caught two persons from Tiruchi accused of luggage and mobile phone theft on the HAL airport premises here. They and another accused person, who was caught on Saturday, were handed over to the police for interrogation. One of the accused persons was reportedly caught stealing a passenger's hand luggage on the airport's Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) at about 7 p.m. on Saturday. The passenger, A. Rajagopalan, had come to the airport to board a Chennai-bound Jet Airways flight. On realising that his luggage was missing, he reported the matter to a CISF officer, who in turn alerted the CCTV Cell, airport sources told The Hindu. Soon the CISF cordoned off the area and conducted a search based on additional information from the Airports Authority of India (AAI)'s terminal manager. The sources said the gang mostly operated near the ticket counter area and stole luggage when passengers were engaged in talking to the counter staff. "We have got repeated complaints about luggage and mobile phone thefts over the past one month," said a top CISF official.
