BANGALORE: Two motorcycle-borne men snatched gold chains valued at over Rs. 1 lakh from three women in as many incidents here since Saturday. The modus operandi of the men, the police said, was to approach the women in the pretext of seeking address before committing the crime. This suggested that the same gang was involved in the crime, they added The police said the men snatched a gold chain weighing 40 grams and valued at Rs. 35,000 from Savitha Patil in Sanjayanagar Police Station limits around 7.45 p.m. Ms. Savitha Patil was on her way to a temple when the incident occurred. The police said that the men then accosted Latha, resident of Malleswaram 17th Cross, near Sampige cinema in Seshadripuram Police Station limits around 8.30 p.m. and snatched a gold chain weighing 60 grams estimated at Rs. 50,000. The police said Latha was on her way home after attending a function at Seshadripuram. On Sunday, two men stopped Vijayalakshmi, who was on a morning walk near Sneha Nursing Home in Mahalakshmipuram Police Station limits, and snatched a gold chain valued at Rs. 22,000. The police have registered cases in this connection. Investigation is on.
