Training for poll officials

Pondicherry: The State Election Commission conducted intensive training on Monday for the officials deployed for duty in the forthcoming civic polls in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. These officials, who would be on duty at the second phase of poll scheduled for June 27 covering Pondicherry and Oulgaret Municipalities and the Villianoor commune panchayat and village panchayats under its purview, underwent training relating to various aspects of conduct of poll. These officers came under the category of Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and other staff, who would be in charge of the polling booths.

District Election Officer Mr. G Theva Needhi Dhas, the Returning Officers and also the Observers appointed for the poll were among those who addressed the staff.
