Indian sentenced to death in Kuwait

Dubai: An Indian in Kuwait has been sentenced to death by a criminal court for killing his lover and later trying to commit suicide.

Smokat. S was given the death sentence for the premeditated murder of Jamona. S on December 13 last year. The court gave him one month's time to file an appeal.

The accused murdered his paramour in her sponsor's home. After strangulating the victim, he covered her with a blanket and left her on the roof of the house. The man then tried to kill himself by cutting his wrist, but his friends prevented him. He was later arrested. — PTI
