THENI : Meghamalai Hills would become one of the prime tourism spots soon with all infrastructure facilities. In this massive effort, a private estate owner on the Meghamalai Hill came forward to offer its 43.4-km stretch road to the government for development of tourism on the hills, said Collector Rajesh Lakhoni The main objective of offering the road to the government was to encourage tourism and attract tourists to the district from different places. The district administration would forward the proposal in this connection for further action. Six dams on the hill and originating place of Suruli Theertham (Suruli falls near Cumbum town) would really be star attraction to tourists. The Department of Tourism had planned to introduce boat or ferry service to enable tourists to enjoy the pristine beauty of the hill, a part of Western Ghats.
