CD containing scenes of assault on policeman sent to army officials

HYDERABAD: The police are trying to identify the army jawans who allegedly beat up a railway police constable following a tiff over parking of a scooter at Secunderabad railway station on Sunday morning with the images captured in a CCTV camera.

Railway Protection Force (RPF) Chief Security Commissioner B. Kamal Kumar told reporters on Monday that eight to nine army personnel might have been involved in the case. "We are in touch with the army officials to identify jawans and a CD containing images of Sunday's incident was also sent to them," Mr. Kumar said.

Help assured

Mr. Kumar said he spoke to Colonel Raju, an administrative officer of Andhra sub-area, who, in turn assured necessary help in identifying the jawans.

The commissioner explained that trouble started when Govinda Rajulu prevented an army official and his wife from parking their scooter in no-parking zone.
