London: Lashings Cricket Club has said it was delighted to have the services of champion batsman Sachin Tendulkar who will play the first of his five matches for the Kent-based club against Cambridge University on Wednesday. ``Tendulkar is such a huge name in international cricket, it will encourage people here to come and see him in action,'' said Jennifer Butcher, the club's public relations manager. Tendulkar, seeking to make a comeback after suffering a shoulder injury in March, is next slated to play against Priory Club in Surrey and against Middleton Club in West Sussex on July 2. He will also play in a few other charity matches. Butcher said Tendulkar would add to the profile of the club which has seen cricketers like Sir Vivian Richards and Shane Warne turn up for them in the past. PTI
