Vamsi bats well

VISAKHAPATNAM: East Godavari, after pulling itself up through a responsible knock by G. Vamsi Manohar (95, 5x4) in the face of fine off-spin bowling by Simhachalam, found itself in a comfortable position at close on the opening day of the ACA North Zone under-19 inter-district tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores: East Godavari 234 in 69.4 overs (G. Vamsi Manohar 95, Simhachalam eight for 80) vs Srikakulam 33 for three in 20.1 overs.

Visakhapatnam 410 for five in 90 overs (S. Kranthi Kumar 130, P. Trinadh 65, G. Appanna 57, V. Trinadh 51) vs Vizianagaram 18 for one in 16 overs.
