BELLARY: Health services should be more adolescent-friendly to help reduce the severity of HIV/AIDS in Bellary district, R.V. Hanumayya, District Health Officer, has said. Dr. Hanumayya was addressing the field workers of Coordinated HIV/AIDS Response through Capacity Building and Awareness (CHARACA) project, who participated in a two-day study camp on youth-friendly health services organised jointly by United Nations Fund for Women (UNIFEM), Bellary District AIDS Prevention Society (BDAPS) and CHARACA at the IMA Hall here on Tuesday. Vandana Mahajan, Programme Officer of UNIFEM, New Delhi, said that because of lack of proper information and services, HIV/AIDS was affecting youth, especially young women. Prahalad, a UNDP consultant, spoke.
