Rupee weakens further

MUMBAI: The rupee on Tuesday closed marginally lower against the U.S. currency at 45.9450/9525 a dollar in virtually lacklustre and range-bound trading, partly affected by a sharp negative reaction in equity markets.

In dull trading at the interbank foreign exchange market here, the Indian unit was trapped in a small range after a promising start at 45.9125/9200. It later closed at 45.9450/9525 against 45.92/93.
