VISAKHAPATNAM: Three suspected Maoist sympathisers allegedly responsible for setting off a landmine near Kanneraselama in G.K. Veedhi mandal of the agency area on June 18 were arrested on Monday. According to the rural police on Tuesday, Pujari Sanyasi Padal of Veeravaram, who is actively involved with the Adivaasi Viplava Rytu Coolie Sangham, and Korra Govind, a member of the Sangham and native of Kanneraselama set off the land mine targeting a police party while Korra Sanyasi was given the job of alerting them about the movement of the police party. The three could set off the landmine but it failed to cause any harm to the police. The three were produced in the Chintapalli court, which sent them to Narsipatnam Sub-Jail for remand.
