SBI opens sales force cell

VIJAYAWADA: A Multi Product Sales Force (MPSF) cell has been opened at the zonal office of State Bank of India (SBI) here on Monday. SBI general manager (network-2) P. Jagadish Babu inaugurated the cell.

The MPSF cell, set up as part of the Bank's business process re-engineering project titled `Project Vijay', consists of teams of specially chosen dynamic staff equipped with special knowledge and skills. They form a potential market force to pro-actively meet people and disseminate information about the Bank's wide range of products and provide easy access to these products, a Bank's release said.

At another function, Mr. Babu handed over a cheque for Rs.1.94 lakhs to Matruchaya, an orphanage at Nutakki, on behalf of SBI, Mangalagiri, as part of the Bank's `community service banking'.

SBI Vijayawada deputy general manager K.S. Subramanian was present at both functions.
