Offers of help pour in for poor girl

HYDERABAD:
Hope and of course the smile on Ruksana's face is back.
With several kind-hearted persons and organisations coming forward to help her, she is confident of pursuing her dream; an engineering course.
A report was carried in these columns on June 15 on the plight of Ruksana's family and her father Md. Burhan's inability to fund her higher education. The report evoked quite a good response with six persons and two organisations committing their help.
Several philanthropists called up The Hindu office offering financial help to the student.
Meanwhile, a good Samaritan, who did not want to be identified, offered to give a cheque for Rs.10,000.
