Court voices concern over handling of atrocity cases

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court has expressed its alarm at the way cases registered under SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act are being dealt with by the investigating agencies.

It has called for a high-level meeting between the Chief Minister, the Home Minister and the Advocate-General to prepare an action plan.

The Bench was dealing with a writ petition of `SAAKSHI', a human rights organisation.
