Will provide a platform for leaders and workers to interact

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee will hold a one-day convention of party workers and local leaders under the leadership of its president, Ram Babu Sharma, at Sri Satya Sai International Centre here this Thursday.

All sitting MPs from Delhi, MLAs, Councillors, DPCC office-bearers, district and block presidents and senior leaders have been invited.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Sharma said a large number of AICC leaders had also been invited to attend the convention and give their advice to the party cadres.

The party general secretary in charge of Delhi, Ashok Gehlot, will inaugurate the convention and Mr. Sharma will preside over the opening ceremony. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit will wrap up the proceedings in the evening.

Mr. Sharma said the conference would provide a platform to senior leaders and party workers to interact and exchange ideas to achieve the objectives outlined by the party and its president, Sonia Gandhi.
