Minister, match commissioner

Priyaranjan Dasmunsi

New Delhi: After conducting the group encounter between Spain and Tunisia, All India Football Federation president and Union Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi has been appointed match commissioner for the Australia-Croatia game to be played in Stuttgart on Thursday.

The Spain-Tunisia match on June 19 was the first time an Indian was appointed to that post in a FIFA World Cup event.

A match commissioner is FIFA's official representative in the match. His job is to ensure that the match is organised and run smoothly. — PTI
