JAIPUR: In a crackdown on illegal colonisers, developers and cooperative societies in and around the Rajasthan Capital, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has freed 600 bighas of land from unauthorised constructions. JDA squads have demolished illegal colony sites at 17 locations along the prestigious Ramgarh Road, Agra Road, Jaipur-Ajmer Road and Jaipur-Tonk Road. JDA Commissioner D.B.Gupta said the action followed identification of housing projects being developed by colonisers without getting clearance from the Authority under Section 90 B. The colonisers and developers were found to be advertising in Delhi newspapers inviting advanced bookings for houses or plots in the proposed townships without JDA clearance. Under the JDA Act, 1982, plots cannot be booked or sold without prior permission in areas falling under the Authority's territory as well as in locations in its proposed extension. Under the present drive JDA would also register cases against illegal colonisers, private developers, holders of fake pattas and office-bearers of the housing societies, Mr.Gupta said. The Authority would demolish illegal constructions without any prior notice, he informed. The demolitions took place on the 20 bighas of land being developed near Chainpura village near the RAC Battalion camp on Ramgarh Road by Naushin Colonisers and on another 50 bighas of land on the same road by A.K.Estate, Delhi, in the name of Riverview Hill. The squads demolished constructions on the proposed Indira Gandhi Nagar and Lalsot Dham on 19 bighas of land on Agra Road. An unauthorised colony coming up on 30 bighas of land on Jamdoli Road, another on Agra Road, Sunshine City on the Jaipur-Ajmer Road being developed by the MIV Group, Parth Nagar Scheme in the Jiachandpura-Gathurawala area and the proposed colony by Salasar Supreme Builders and properties on 20 bighas of land on Tonk Road, 1 km ahead of Shivdaspura Phatak, too, came under demolition. Mr.Gupta has appealed to the investors in housing projects not to fall into the trap of illegal colonisers but to verify the status of the land with the JDA.
