97 in fray for 34 ZPTCs

VIZIANAGARAM: In all 97 candidates are in fray for the 34 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies after the withdrawal of nominations ended at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. According to ZP Chief Executive Officer A. Jagadish, while the Congress and the TDP are contesting all the 34 ZPTCs, the CPI (M) is contesting for 10 seats, CPI for 2 seats, BJP for 9 seats and independents for 8 seats.

IT help centre

Additional Commissioner of Income Tax Mahendra Singh inaugurated the help centre near Chandana Brothers Shop on the Mahatma Gandhi Road here on Wednesday. An IT official manning the centre would clarify doubts of Income Tax payers, according to a release.
