Kakinada: Two children -- Hemalatha (4) and her brother Hemanth (3) -- who went missing while travelling with their mother in Circar Express from Vijayawada were handed over to the Railway police at Samalkot by co-passengers on Monday. Both children were handed over to the Child Line, which, in turn, kept them temporarily in Parivarthana, home for streetchildren and child labour in Bhaskar Nagar . Vakkalanka Ramakrishna, secretary of Parivarthana, said here on Wednesday that both children were maintaining that they boarded the train at Vijayawada along with their mother but could not find her on reaching Samalkot. The co-passengers saw her getting down from the train at Rajahmundry. A packet containing a pair of clothes of the children was found along with them. Mr. Ramakrishna opined that the mother had wantonly left them in the train.
No clues
The children were not able to tell any thing about the parents except that their mother worked in a biscuit factory. They were giving both Vijayawada and Rajahmundry as their place of residence. Mr. Ramakrishna said they would be brought up in Parivarthana till they were restored to their parents.
