BUDA promises to construct 50 classrooms

Belgaum: The District Kannada Organisations Action Committee said that the Commissioner of Belgaum Urban Development Authority D.B. Nayak had promised to construct at least 50 classrooms for 50 Kannada medium schools under the "Suvarna Karnataka Year" programme.

Meets Commissioner

The assurance was made to the committee's delegation, which met the Commissioner here on Wednesday.

In a press release, committee president Ashok Chandargi said the BUDA would take up construction work within three days of receipt of proposal from the Education Department. The department should prepare a list of schools where classrooms were needed and submit to the BUDA at the earliest, the release said.
