HUBLI: The Hubli Police have confiscated pirated CDs worth Rs. 50,000 and arrested four persons in this connection. Police raided several video parlours in the city on Station Road, Ganespet and Keshwapur Bhavaninagar here on Tuesday and confiscated pirated CDs of new films in Kannada, English and Telugu and also some containing pornography. The arrested are Parashuram Hanumantasa Bhandage, Ganapati Hanumantasa Bhandage of Kamaripet, Santosh Vittal Pavaskar and Basavaraj Sahadevappa Desai of Keshwapur. Another accused Suresh Bhajantri was absconding, police said.
Television seized
A television and three CD players were also seized. Separate cases have been registered at Hubli Town and Keshwapur Police stations.
Arrested
The Hubli police have arrested one person on charge of selling pirated CDs and confiscated electronic goods, including a computer, and several CDs worth Rs. 33,350 from him. The name of the arrested was given as Shrikanth Yashwant Koppad of Old Hubli. A case has been registered at Suburban Police Station.
