Profiles of new Ministers

BANGALORE: Short profiles of the eight new members of the Ministry are given below:

M.P. Prakash (Janata Dal-Secular), who was born on July 11, 1940, represents Hoovinahadagali constituency in Bellary district. He was Deputy Chief Minister in the Dharam Singh Government. Mr. Prakash was a member of the seventh, eighth and 10th Assemblies, and a member of the Legislative Council from 2000 to 2004. A law graduate, Mr. Prakash held various portfolios in previous governments. He is the President of the State unit of the Janata Dal (S).

KMF president

H.D. Revanna (JD-S) was Minister for Public Works and Energy in the Dharam Singh government. Born on December 7, 1957, Mr. Revanna was a member of the 10th Legislative Assembly. He is president of the Karnataka Milk Federation and the Hassan Milk Federation.

H.K. Kumaraswamy (JD-S), who was born on May 31, 1955, represents the Belur reserved constituency in Hassan district. He was a member of eight and 10th Legislative Assemblies. A graduate in science and law, he owns a coffee plantation.

First term as MLA

Zameer Ahmed Khan (JD-S) was born on August 1, 1966. He represents Chamarajpet constituency in Bangalore. He owns a transport company and is general secretary of the JD(S). This is his first term as an MLA.

S.A. Ravindranath (BJP), who was born on November 26, 1946, represents Mayakonda constituency. He was a member of the 10th and 11th Legislative Assemblies. He is a science graduate.

Shivananda Naik (BJP), who represents the Bhatkal constituency, was born on December 6, 1962.

Revu Naik Belamagi (BJP) represents the Kamalapura reserved constituency in Gulbarga district. Mr. Belamagi, who is 61, was a member of 10th and 11th Legislative Assemblies.

Shashikant Akkappa Naik (BJP) was born on April 1, 1960. Mr. Naik represents Hukkeri constituency in Belgaum district. This is his first term as an MLA.
