ADILABAD: As many as 194 candidates were left in the fray for 52 Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) in Adilabad district after 171 nominations were withdrawn on Wednesday. The 194 include those of Kosa Rao (TDP) and C. Ramesh (Janata Dal) for Adilabad and Utnoor ZPTCs whose appeals against rejection of their nominations were allowed by Adilabad Collector on June 20. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has fielded candidates from all the 52 ZPTCs while the Congress has fielded from 40 constituencies. However, the largest number of 55 candidates would contest as Independents. Telangana Rashtra Samiti has 13 candidates, the Bharatiya Janata Party 17, the Communist Party of India nine and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bahujan Samaj Party four each.
