Sangeetha Saraswati award for Pattammal

BANGALORE: Doyenne of Carnatic music D.K. Pattammal will be presented the Sangeetha Saraswati award at Chowdiah memorial Hall here on Sunday.

Manava Seva Kendra, a social organisation, would be presenting the award to Ms. Pattammal as a part of its 21st anniversary. The award presentation will be followed by a vocal concert by Ms. Pattammal's granddaughter Nityasree Mahadevan.

Manava Seva Kendra has been giving the award for the past four years.

The earlier recipients of the award are V. Dakshinamoorthy, M.S. Subbulakshmi and M. Balamurali Krishna.
