Jairaj pays surprise visit to flood-hit areas

BANGALORE : Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner K. Jairaj on Wednesday made surprise visits to Gururaja Layout, Kamakya Layout and Sudhamanagar, which reported flooding because of Monday's rain.

He ordered removal of encroachments on storm water drains and asked the BMP officials to coordinate with Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) in carrying out the task.

In Gururaja Layout, Mr. Jairaj asked the BMP officials to clear the encroachments on storm water drains.

He also asked the officials to take up works for repairs 9th Main and 10th Main Road.

He ordered for transfer of Assistant Executive Engineer Noorulla Amin and Assistant Engineer Ravindra Babu on charges of dereliction of duty.
