BANGALORE: Zindagi Express, an exhibition on wheels showcasing the achievements of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on its Golden Jubilee year arrived to a rousing welcome at the Cantonment Railway Station here on Wednesday morning.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Director of All India Radio, Bangalore, S.S. Hiremath fondly recalled his association with the insurance giant and expressed the confidence that the corporation would continue to outsmart private players in the field.

Complimenting LIC for resorting to an innovative publicity campaign through "Zindagi Express", Mr. Hiremath said the corporation believed in innovative working method while delivering services to the public.

He said not many people knew how and when the corporation was founded and its grand achievements.

Through "Zindagi Express", Mr. Hiremath said, LIC could reach out to more people. The train began the journey from Delhi on April 26 to spread the LIC message throughout the country. It would stay at Cantonment Railway Station till Thursday evening and later move to Mysore. The seven bogies of the train in which the exhibition is being held, showcase the achievements, milestones and history of life insurance in India, since the inception of LIC in 1956.

Some of the rare exhibits on "Zindagi Express" include a photocopy of the policy taken by Mahatma Gandhi and documents relating to the policy claims of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi.

Entry to the exhibition is free and there are competitions for schoolchildren and a lucky dip draw for general public.

The Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Bangalore, Mahesh Kumar and the Regional Manager, Public Relations and Corporate Communication, South Central Zone, LIC, H.S. Shashi Kumar were present.
