Two held on charge of drug peddling

BANGALORE:
The Frazer Town police on Wednesday arrested two persons on charge of drug peddling and seized from them 25 kg of ganja estimated at Rs. 1 lakh.
The names of the arrested were given as Arif (30) and Imtiyaz (30), both residents of Devarajeevanhalli. Arief was arrested on similar charges and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act five times in the past, the police said. The two were arrested while they were allegedly trying to sell the substance on Dickenson Road. One of their accomplices managed to escape, the police said. Arief's foster mother Shahjadi is accused in 21 cases under the NDPS Act and she is in jail.
