The District Rural Development Agency has taken up an innovative idea of giving a wide publicity to the Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC) among the rural masses. The publicity acquires significance in the wake of an enhanced subsidy component for the programme. Postcard being one of the compact means of communication, the DRDA authorities printed one-lakh postcards, carrying the logo of the Total Sanitation Campaign. "We have specifically indicated the increase in the subsidy component for the individual toilets from Rs.600 to Rs. 1,200," says the District Co-ordinator, TSC, A. Janet Virginia, who worked on the design. The Minister for Local Administration, M. K. Stalin, released the card in Tiruchi recently.
