Mosquito menace

Tiny creatures often decide the way citizens react to the civic body. In the present instance, those irking the public most are mosquitoes. Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has deployed no less than 273 personnel and several fogging machines to bring these tiny, blood-thirsty creatures under control.

With open drains still dotting many areas and rain water creating puddles, fogging alone will not do.

People have to cooperate in identifying pools of stagnant water where mosquitoes can be eliminated at the larvae stage itself, officials say.
