Location for nuclear plant in Haryana identified

CHANDIGARH: The location for setting up a nuclear power plant in Haryana has been identified, State Power Minister Venod Sharma said on Friday.

The Nuclear Power Corporation (NPC) has identified the site at Kumharia in Fatehabad district where the State Government had agreed to supply adequate quantity of water for the proposed plant, Mr. Sharma said while talking to reporters here

The PM had promised to consider State's demand for setting up a nuclear power plant during his last visit to Panipat, he pointed out. He said the State Govt. was prepared to get power from any available source so that farmers did not suffer. - UNI
