Visakhapatnam takes lead

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam and East Godavari gained first-innings lead over Srikakulam and Vizianagaram respectively in the drawn matches of the ACA North Zone under-19 inter-district cricket tournament here on Friday.

The scores:

Srikakulam 56 and 51 for two in 28 overs drew with Visakhapatnam 176 for five decl. in 44.1 overs (S. Kranthi Kumar 62, Sk. Niyamatullah 56).

East Godavari 285 and 26 for one decl. in 1.5 overs drew with Vizianagaram 60 in 24.2 overs (M. Ajaykumar five for 11) and 172 for six in 46 overs (G. Santosh Kumar 55, Avinash Lalwani 40).

Vizag girls keep winning

The Visakhapatnam girls scored their third consecutive win, beating Kollam 25-16, 25-9, 20-25, 25-17, in the South Zone inter-SAI Hostel volleyball tournament here on Friday.
