Bangalore: Century Textile and Industries has launched "Cottons", a ready-to-wear apparel brand, in the State.

Cottons, which will be pitched in the sub-premium segment, will be available at both exclusive and multi-brand outlets.

Subrata Siddhanta, Business Head of Century Textiles, told presspersons on Wednesday that the company, which had a manufacturing arrangement for garments in Bangalore, would look at the domestic market before going overseas. Cottons, which was first launched in Mumbai in 2003, had received an encouraging market response, he said. The annual turnover in the past two years was Rs. 95 lakh and Rs. 2.35 crore, he added. Mr. Subrata said the product range included both formal and casual wear for men.

    Insurance

ING Vysya Bank and Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company have entered into a corporate agency agreement for distribution of general insurance products. ING Vysya Bank will distribute health, personal accident, motor, travel and home insurance products through the banks' extensive branch network and increase insurance cover for the small and medium enterprise and rural segments.

    `Fun cards'

Hutch has launched "Fun cards" — scratch cards that offer pre-defined content. Using the cards, Hutch customers can purchase their favourite "caller tunes" and "ring tones" off the shelf from Hutch retailers.

According to Samuel Selvakumar, Operations Director, Hutch, this is an innovation that offers a value-added service. The content in "Fun cards" can be downloaded in the same procedure as recharging with currency. They are available in three categories — a set of three ring tones for Rs. 20, a caller-tune subscription and a caller tune for Rs. 45 and a set of four caller tunes for Rs. 40. Customers can buy these cards at over 100 Hutch shops and other retail outlets in Bangalore.

Mr. Selvakumar said: "Using these cards, customers can download their desired ring tones and caller tunes."
