`Voice ATM' service to be launched

HYDERABAD: The city-based NowPos Online Services Pvt Ltd, a niche voice technology products company, is all set to launch the first of its kind `voice ATM' services in the rural areas.

The voice ATM will serve as a real time communication facility between the users and the banks. The user has to insert the ATM card in the machine and enter the PIN number to operate the account based on the instructions given by the machine. Customers can request for chequebooks, stop payment and avail other services.

NowPos has secured nod for its product from Andhra Bank for introducing the voice ATM solutions in its ATM centres located in rural areas. The company has commenced discussions with the ATM manufacturers for incorporating the required solution in the machines and the deal is likely to be completed within the next four to five months. NowPos leader (equivalent to CEO) Nagubandi Ayyappa said that the firm had almost finalised a deal with a leading non-Governmental organisation for developing a voice portal.
