Held on charge of

possessing porn CDs

The city police on Friday arrested a man on charges of possessing porn VCDs, pirated DVDs and audio CDs. Kesari Chand Potilia alias Kailash of Barkatpura was nabbed after the police raided his godown at Bank Street near Koti.

Run over by train

A 35-year-old man, clad in blue jeans and pink shirt, was run over by a train near Moulali railway station on Thursday. His body is preserved at Gandhi Hospital mortuary.

Electrocuted

A man was electrocuted at his workplace at Hayathnagar on Thursday. M. Ramchander Goud (35) of Inamguda in Hayathnagar was erecting a tent when he came in contact with live wires and suffered serious burns.

Mechanic ends life

A 70-year-old cycle mechanic, Mohammed Ghouse, committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at his house at Moinpura in Kamatipura on Friday. He had some financial problems, the police said.

Fatal fall for youth

A youth died after he fell from the fifth floor of a building under construction near his house at Sanjeevareddy Nagar on Friday. Police said R. Shankar (20) could have lost his balance. He suffered multiple fractures and died instantly.

Water unit raided

Officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards on Friday raided Akram Agencies at Karmanghat for running a packaged drinking water unit without a valid license. A large quantity of one litre and two litre water bottles, labels and pouches were seized.
