Software engineer robbed

BANGALORE: Armed men waylaid a software engineer and a businessman in separate incidents and robbed them of mobile phones, credit cards, a gold ring, a wristwatch and cash on Thursday.

The police said that around 11.30 p.m. four men stopped G. Das, software engineer, on Hosur Road, off Garvebavipalya, while he was walking towards his house in Bommanahalli.

They punched him on the face and robbed him of Rs. 500 in cash, a gold ring, mobile phone and wristwatch. On a complaint by Das, the Madivala police have registered a case.

Another incident

In the other incident, around midnight, four men, who came on two motorcycles, stopped Inthiyaz, a businessman, while he was driving in his car near Hotel Leela Palace on Airport Road.

They threatened him with knives and relieved him of his mobile phone and credit cards, the police added.

On a complaint by Inthiyaz, a resident of MICO Layout, the Jeevanbimanagar police have registered a case.

Chain snatched

A youth snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 30,000 from a woman in Rajajinagar police station limits on Thursday.

The police said that around 7.30 p.m. a youth came from behind and snatched the chain from Sudhasri while she was walking on 7th Main, 31st Cross, 2nd Block, Rajajinagar.

On a complaint by Sudhasri, the Rajajinagar police have registered a case.

Shop burgled

Thieves broke into a shop on Tumkur Road in Peenya police station limits on Thursday night and made away with a television set, a camera and other electronic gadgets, all worth Rs. 50,000.

On a complaint by the proprietor of the shop, Mukesh Kumar, the Peenya police have registered a case.

Killed

Abhinava Sharma (25) was killed when a lorry rammed his motorcycle on Sarjapur Ring Road around 10.30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Adugodi traffic police have registered a case and seized the lorry.
