People protest transfer of Yeshwanthpur police inspector

Staff Reporter

Sampath Kumar was transferred just two months after he was posted

BANGALORE: Residents of Yeshwanthpur, along with traders, staged a demonstration and blocked traffic on Friday to protest against the transfer of Yeshwanthpur police inspector Sampath Kumar. Hundreds of people gathered near Yeshwanthpur police station and formed a human chain. Those leading the demonstration said that in the past one year five inspectors had been posted to the police station.

Sampath Kumar had been transferred just two months after his posting, they said.

The protesters dispersed after senior police officials assured them that their demand would be conveyed to the Government.
