Dialysis unit

The renovated dialysis unit at St. John's Medical College Hospital will be inaugurated on Saturday by Archbishop of Bangalore Bernard Moras.

The haemodialysis centre at the hospital has 24 dialysis stations with state-of-the art computerised machines.

According to hospital authorities, many patients had been coming for dialysis for more than 15 years.

The inauguration is at 9 a.m.

Inaugurated

Chairman of TTK Group of Companies T.T. Jagannathan on Friday inaugurated the second floor of Rotary-TTK Blood Bank on New Thippasandra Main Road. The second floor has been dedicated to the former Regional Manager of The Hindu V.V.K. Mani, who was also chairman of the Blood Bank.

Speaking at the function, Mr. Jagannathan remembered the services rendered by the late Mani in developing the blood bank to international standards.

Drains cleaned

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has taken action in cleaning blocked drains and culverts at six places in the West Zone to facilitate free flow of rainwater, a press release from the civic body said.

BMP personnel demolished an encroachment on a storm water drain at Gururaj Layout in Ward no. 55 and a structure on Kamakhya Road; both were causing major obstruction to the flow of rainwater.

The task was carried out under the supervision of Yeshwanth, Joint Commissioner (South), BMP.

Hawkers at Jayanagar Shopping Complex were Thursday, the press release added.
