Cast: Aniruddh, Akshay Krishna, Radhika and Damini
Fresh and relatively bold treatment to good old theme of love, friendship and rivalry makes S. Nandakumar's maiden venture, Good Luck, a sensible entertainer. The film attempts to expose the murky area of model-related world of showbiz such as exploitation of women in the name of creativity and criminal designs involved in the making or marring the career of models. Good Luck would have been the first of its kind in Kannada cinema had Nandakumar put some more effort to explore the intricacies and related politics of the showbiz world with refinement. Despite certain shortcomings, the film commands the attention of audience owing to clever screenplay, intelligent characterisation, good narration, interesting and interpretive dialogues and photography (PKH Das). The director's strength lies in maintaining the pace of the film and balancing differing interests and the approach to life of the four major characters. Aniruddha as funny and forlorn lover Ani is excellent. Radhika as a much sought after model Mandakini, and Damini as her rival Shiba succeed in pleasing the audience with their appearance and talent. It is Akshay Krishna as playboy like villain Ajay steals the show.
