`Government will extend help to investors'

KANNUR: Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government will extend assistance to those willing to invest in the State.

Giving away the best entrepreneur awards instituted by the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce here on Saturday, Mr. Balakrishnan said that the Government would ensure safe investor-friendly environment for investors.

The Minister said that hartals and strikes could not be stopped suddenly and added that the Government would take steps to protect the investors.

It would also hold talks with various trade union organisations in this regard, he added. 0The Government plans to attract investments in the tourism and Information Technology sectors and was ready to promote tourism ventures that would not harm the State's environment.
