HUBLI: Thirteen houses were partially damaged following heavy rain that lasted for more than two hours in Hubli on Friday evening. However, nobody was injured. Due to the downpour, several low-lying areas in the city were flooded causing inconvenience to the residents. The residents of Heggeri Colony, especially those adjacent to the storm water drain, had a difficult time as the drainage water entered their houses. The staff of Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation and the personnel of Emergency and Fire Services were pressed into service. Till late in the night, the HDMC staff and the residents were pumping out the water from the houses. While some vehicle owners dared to pass through the water logged roads, some were seen waiting for the water to recede.
