U.P. to improve coordination with minorities body

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh has decided to nominate the additional resident commissioner in New Delhi to establish better coordination with the National Commission for Minorities' Educational Institutions (NCMEI).

Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary N C Bajpai, who called on NCMEI Chairman M S A Siddiqui here, assured the latter that all necessary steps will be taken to fill vacant posts in minority institutions, an official release said.

Siddiqui said his commission would urge the Centre to establish a separate board for minority institutions on the lines of the CBSE.

Siddiqui, who was here to attend a seminar on the problems of minority educational institutions at Amiruddaula Islamia Degree College, praised the steps taken by Uttar Pradesh for the well being of minorities and pointed out several grievances faced by minority institutions.

He pledged all possible support to educate the minorities and to ensure the success of the Pulse Polio campaign among these communities. - PTI
