CHENNAI: The contribution of legendary mathematics teacher P.K. Srinivasan to the field of mathematics research should be made available to all, speakers at a function organised to release his book Math Fun For Senior Citizens on Friday said. While N. Ravi, Editor, The Hindu , recalled his long association with PKS and the latter's attempts to simplify the teaching of mathematics, R. Veeramani, chairman, Gem Group of Companies, said PKS was "a man of vision with a mission" and passed on his love for mathematics even to children. "Men like PKS who set the fundamentals for math training are behind India's leadership in mathematical capability today," he added. R. Athmaraman, Association of Mathematics Teachers of India, said PKS had made the learning of maths a joyful experience. N. Balasubramanian, advisor, Anna University K.B. Chandrasekhar Foundation, A. Nagaraj, chairman of the Anna Institute of Management, Dr. Ramanujam of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, litterateur Avvai Natarajan and other associates of PKS also spoke. The book will be commercially made available soon, the family members of P.K. Srinivasan, who had organised the function, said.
