Four killed in roof collapse

KURNOOL: Four persons, including two children, died in roof collapse at Yemmiganur in Kurnool district on Saturday. According to reports, the roof of the house in the Sultan Street of the town collapsed around 3.30 a.m. under which 12 persons of the family were sleeping.

Four died on the spot while five persons sustained serious injuries. According to reports, the roof, which leaked due to heavy rain in the past few days and sunk under its own weight and caved in.

The family spread sticky mud on the roof to reinforce it only a few days ago.

The deceased were identified as Asha Bi (22), Rahina (4), Khajamunnisa (18) and Nasima (5).
