NEW DELHI: A Delhi court, considering non-filing of chargesheet by the CBI against it's own inspector within stipulated sixty days period, granted bail to him who allegedly took bribe from the some of the accused in the Rs.4000 crore Co-operative Group Housing Society (CGHS) scam. Rejecting CBI plea that the chargesheet could not be filed as the accused Naresh Mittar Sharawat did not agree to give his voice specimen, Additional Sessions Judge B S Mathur observed that the taking of voice specimen cannot be so time consuming as projected by the CBI. The agency had contended that the specimen could be obtained only after the court's order and the opinion of the Forensic Science Laboratory was to be obtained thereon before filing the chargesheet. Sehrawat is accused of taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh from the CGHS scam accused Ashok Kumar Sharma and Jaideep Malik through an advocate Sushil Kumar Gupta and one Sushil Kumar. In April this year, the probe agency had arrested five people including two of its own inspectors who were allegedly influencing and giving clean chit to some housing societies against monetary considerations. - PTI
