CHENNAI: To create awareness of the Right to Information Act at the grassroots, the Tamil Nadu Right to Information Campaign will conduct workshops for all stakeholders in several districts.

The campaign, launched on June 15, is spearheaded by a few civil society groups to ensure effective implementation of the Right to Information Act that would lead to greater transparency and accountability in government, Sriharini Narayanan, deputy director, Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group, told presspersons here on Saturday.

To sensitise citizens, the media and the government to the importance of the Act, a 15-day camp would be held in various districts, including Chennai. Such a workshop was held in Chennai on Saturday.
