Muralitharan arrives in city

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Sri Lankan off-spinning wizard Muttiah Muralitharan arrived here on Saturday night from London, through Colombo.

Muralitharan, married to Chennai girl Madhimalar, pulled out of the last three ODIs against England to spend time with his five-month-old son Naren, who is recovering from a stomach surgery, performed at Malar Hospital here.

Anxious to be with his son, Muralitharan made a quick exit from the airport. The 34-year-old bowler spun Sri Lanka to a series-levelling victory in the third Test at Nottingham with 11 scalps, including eight in the second innings.
