Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constables were electrocuted on their centre premises at Alwal on Saturday morning.

Head constable Manu Lal Puria, 38, and T. S. Pillai, 41, were attending some painting works with the help of a ladder when they came in contact with high-tension wires resulting in serious burns. They were shifted to a nearby corporate hospital where they died later.

According to the police, Puria's colleague Gurunadhan too suffered burns. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital. His condition is said to be stable.

Bomb hoax

A call made by an anonymous person stating that a bomb was planted in Sri Chaitanya Junior College at Narayanguda on Saturday sent the police and the college management into a tizzy.

The call, however, turned out to be hoax. Bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were immediately pressed into service and searched the premises for nearly three hours.
