Policeman dies

in accident

KOCHI: A head constable attached to the Kannamaly Police Station died after the two-wheeler he was riding collided with another two-wheeler near Eramaloor on Saturday evening. The police said that the victim, Shaju, a native of Kumbalanghi, died while being taken to a hospital. — Staff Reporter

Petition submitted

KOCHI: The State Human Rights Commission has accepted a petition filed by the social activist Mukesh Jain for ensuring the availability of drinking water in schools. Mr. Jain presented the petition at a sitting of the commission in Aluva on Saturday. — Staff Reporter
